Writers & Readers,
Tucked away in a quiet hallway alcove, last weekend's Ithaca Book & Zine Fair was slower than usual for us— which meant that it was great for getting for writing done! For those of you who did stop by our little nook, thanks :)
Read on for a brand new call for submissions (with SO MUCH more time to get a story together), meet our (already incredibly helpful) volunteer intern, and get your monthly writing prompt!

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS:
✨ Don't Go Alone ✨
What scary ideas are dwelling in your head, waiting to haunt others, to be given form in innocent-looking ink on paper? Give us your best tales to fright and chill!
OF NOTE: We're going to do something a little different for the next couple of collections—give writers more time to write! We've heard from some of you that you would have submitted a story to a particular anthology had you more notice to develop your idea. How does a year sound? During that stretch we will put out the three anthologies already in progress (Xeno, Against All Odds, Coffee Shop at the End of the Universe) and maybe even publish a novel...

INK ALCHEMY INTERN SPOTLIGHT:
Join us in welcoming our wonderful new volunteer intern, Himani Parekh! Himani is passionate about story-telling, fiction, and books. She writes fiction that aims to immerse the reader in emotional landscapes and is often tinged, intentionally or not, by elements of her first love, gothic romanticism. In a past life, she worked as an Aerospace Engineer. She has lived a winding path that very likely will continue to wind. Himani thinks people should read more fiction.

We've got a new page up on our site listing all the wonderful local bookstores that carry our books, along with links to buy online at Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

WRITING PROMPT:
Need a spark of inspiration? Here, have a prompt: Write from the point of view of something that exists underwater. Mermaid, lobster trap, pearl, shipwreck—the possibilities are as vast as the ocean!
.
Writer's Block? Lie on your back on a good cloud-watching day and tell a little story about the images you see in the sky.
Warmly,
Naomi
